I am so proud to say that not once did Chloe try to pee on the tree. She didn’t even really care that the tree had nice sparkly balls all over it and they were just a little too big to look like a tennis ball but still balls non the less. She sniffed them once and then that was the end the tree didn’t look like something she wanted to deal with. The only time she found the tree to be too much was when she was wrestling with Ruby and go too close to the tree and it poked her in the bum. So she turned around and bit the branch that poked her. We all had to laugh. But I guess fair is fair.Chloe’s buddy across the lawn hasn’t been so fortunate. Brutis the Mastiff/Great Dane mix has moved in with his Grandma (Beth Maynes) for the weekdays when his owner is away on business. He has been getting quite the interesting education in eating things he shouldn’t. His latest no-no is eating the bulbs on the low branches of the Christmas tree. Low for him is anything on the bottom 4 feet of the tree. He decided they are really fun to chew on and then when they burst eat the evidence. Not so good to try to digest. His poor body went through some trough bouts of bloody diarrhea. OUCH.
The gifts under the tree were fun. Chloe would sniff the new ones to find out where they were from but that was it she didn’t bother them at all. We had allot of new snacks dropped of at the house but nothing for the dogs. So we decided to get the Girls some treats for Christmas from the family. They love them. I have a suspicion that there is peanut butter in them. Chloe is ready to do anything if you have one in your hand. I am really interested in finding out how far she will go. Silly girl.
To keep the destruction down to a dull roar. We have been trying to get out daily to go for a walk. When there has been snow we have been trying to keep the snow games fun and interesting.

Chloe loves the snow. Her favorite thing now is to push her nose through it to see what is underneath. Park days have been really important also. She has gotten to the point that she knows it is Sat. and will go crazy racing around until you tell her to go out to the car. She knows it is park day and we can’t get there soon enough. Sometimes we even run into Brutis at the park. So he and Chloe can play. It is funny to see how much both of them have changed. However with how fast she is growing we are in major need of another vehicle to get the 6 of us to the park. Papa Nelson has been really great letting us use his Trail Blazer when ever possible.
Christmas Day was great. We got up with the boys and unwrapped presents. The girls did really well with this. Ruby is a pro and was more than willing to help Chloe learn the ropes. The first present we placed on the floor for Chloe she was determined to ignore it and be a good girl. Then when we told her it was ok and she could finally play with the present she was a bit confused. But then when she saw that Ruby was going to get it she grabbed it with her mouth and took off. We had to keep her blocked in so she didn’t try to go hide it. Her teeth had made the paper stick to her mouth so when it tore she tried to eat the paper. It was quite a adventure to direct her in the right way. Sometimes it is best to leave the teaching to the dogs. We placed the next presents down one in front of both girls. This time Chloe tried a little and then watched what Ruby was doing with the paper. She would bite a chunk out and spit the paper out to get to the good stuff. It didn’t take any time at all before Chloe was on the fast track. By the third present she was getting really excited to see what was inside. Now she is busy trying to find out what is inside the stuffed animal Ruby got for Christmas.
After presents and breakfast we took the girls to the park to play with their new frizbee. I had to get video of this one because it was too funny they did the same thing most of the way through the park. It is now a favorite game.
This is Chloe’s version of keep away. She absolutely loves this game. I am not sure if she remembers it from when you guys were here or if she was taught it by the dogs at the park. But I know that we haven’t been playing it at home so wherever she learned it she loves it. It is a absolute blast to watch. You cant hear it but we are laughing the whole video.
